Safety Consulting Services
Auditing / Inspections
Safety Management Audits
A process which examines an organisation’s OHS management system to
verify the existence and level of implementation against its
intended outcomes. Provides management with an analysis of the
systems overall effectiveness. Conducted to comply with AS4801.
Duration: 5 to 10 days (depending on complexity and organisation
structure).

Safety Compliance Audits
A process which physically examines a workplace to establish the
degree of conformity between legislative requirements and its actual
performance. Identified hazards are evaluated to determine how they
are managed, risk levels are assigned and corrective measures are
recommended to management. Duration: 2 to 5 days (depending on
complexity and organisation structure).

Workplace Inspections
Similar to compliance auditing, this process provides the
organisation with a snapshot of site safety compliance. A process
which physically examines a workplace to establish the degree of
conformity between legislative requirements and its actual
performance. Identified hazards are evaluated to determine how they
are managed, risk levels are assigned and corrective measures are
recommended to management. Duration: maximum 1 day.

Safety Training Services
Approved Course for
Managers, Supervisors and Health & Safety Representatives –
Initial Level (pending approval from WorkSafe Victoria)
The course aims to provide Managers, Supervisors and Health & Safety
Representatives (HSRs), from various industry groups, with an
understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (Victoria) and
knowledge of their functions under the Act. The course introduces
strategies to enable participants to exercise their powers,
including employee representation, consultation and negotiation
skills. The course also provides the participants with a basic
understanding of risk management processes to assist them to carry
out their function. Duration: 5 days.

OHS for Supervisors /
Managers
This course introduces participants to OHS Legislation and
responsibilities and is designed for Managers, Supervisors,
Employees and individuals seeking a greater appreciation of health
and safety and its application in the workplace. The course provides
participants with an understanding of the OHS Act and an
understanding of risk management processes to assist them to carry
out their functions. The course also provides participants with
basic knowledge and skills to be able to operate with the bounds of
OHS Legislation to ensure that their workplace is safe and without
risk. Duration: 3 days

OHS for Executives
/ Senior Management
Designed for the Executive level, this course introduces
participants to OHS Legislation and responsibilities from a
management perspective and seeks to reinforce understanding of OHS
legislative responsibilities and appreciation of its application to
the workplace. The course provides participants with basic knowledge
and skills to effectively implement maintain and evaluate an OHS
system within the bounds of legislation to ensure that their
workplaces, and those that they have responsibility for, are safe
and without risk. Duration: 1 Day

This session provides participants with an introduction to risk
management principles and practice and provides the strategies to
manage workplace risk. The session is relevant to Managers,
Supervisors, Employees and individuals from various industry groups
seeking a greater understanding and appreciation of the risk
management process and its application in the workplace.

Understanding OHS
Legislation
Introduces participants to the OHS legislative framework and its
application in the workplace. The session is a broad overview of the
OHS Act and as such is relevant to Managers, Supervisors, Employees
and individuals from various industry groups seeking a greater
appreciation of health and safety legislation and its application in
the workplace.
Duration: 4 Hours

Manual Handling
This session introduces participants to Manual Handling Legislation,
principles and practice and provides the strategies to manage
workplace risk associated with this hazard. The participant will be
able to apply this knowledge to identify and control manual handling
risk in the workplace. The session is relevant to Managers,
Supervisors, Employees and individuals seeking a greater
understanding of the manual handling process and its application in
the workplace.
Duration: 4 Hours

Chemical Safety
Introduces participants to Hazardous Substance Legislation,
principles and practice and provides the strategies to manage
workplace risk associated with this hazard. The participant will be
able to apply this knowledge to identify and control hazardous
substance risk in the workplace. The session is relevant to
Managers, Supervisors, Employees and individuals seeking a greater
understanding of the hazardous substance process and its application
in the workplace.
Duration: 4 Hours

Plant Management
This session introduces participants to Plant Legislation,
principles and practice and provides the strategies to manage
workplace risk associated with this hazard. The participant will be
able to apply this knowledge to identify and control plant risk in
the workplace. The session is relevant to Managers, Supervisors,
Employees and individuals seeking a greater understanding of the
management of plant and its application in the workplace.
Duration: 4 Hours
